The StormTrack system receives weather data from the US National Weather Service via satellite. The system creates an entry for each tropical depression, storm, or hurricane when the National Weather Service begins issuing advisories.

The National Weather Service provides an interactive map of the United States. Users may access information about active alerts, forecast maps, radar, current conditions, satellite images, air quality, and more. Also available are links to information about the climate, droughts, records, astronomical data, certified weather data, aviation, international weather, and much more.
