The Library has a new book mark to commemorate the Building's 50th Anniversary! The Library held a bookmark design contest which was open to all students, faculty, and staff. Nearly fifteen designs were submitted, from which a top three were chosen from the Library's Facebook followers. Library staff then chose from the top three. While there were many beautiful designs, the winning design was created by Angelo State University senior, Allison Romo.
Allison comes to ASU from Hereford, Texas. She will graduate in May, 2017 with a Bachelor degree of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Graphic Design. Allison explains her artistic expression often comes in the form of "low poly art". She explains that the art form "is created by simple geometric shapes that are placed side-by-side to create compelling composition". The same technique was used in her bookmark design, specifically in the text of "ASU" and the ram's head. As Allison states, it's fun to see the subject start to form using lines and shapes. The Library thanks Ms. Romo for her creation and wishes her the best as she finishes out her last semester at ASU.
