Using EBSCO eBooks

EBSCO Mobile App

The EBSCO Mobile app provides authorized users with an easy way to read titles from their library's EBSCO eBook collections. In addition, the app enables users to download eBooks and read them in the app without needing an Adobe ID or the Adobe Digital Editions app.

Downloaded EBSCO eBooks can be read in the app while offline if you have not logged out of the app. Simply access the downloaded eBook from your Bookmarked items or the Recently Viewed list on the Home screen of the app.

The EBSCO Mobile App is available for iOS devices from the iTunes App store and for Android devices from the Google Play store.
Your device must be running:

  • Apple iPhones and iPads: iOS 11+
  • Android Devices: Android 9+
  • Chromebooks that support Android apps via Google Play
Note: You must be signed into the App with your personal EBSCO user account in order to download eBooks. If you are signed in with institutional credentials, you will be prompted to sign in with your account, unless the eBook is available DRM-free (there are no digital management restrictions in place limiting length or number of downloads) .

How do I Log In to the EBSCO App?

To log in to the EBSCO Mobile App:

  1. Open the App and tap Get Started.

EBSCO app - Find your institution screen  Select Angelo State University from the pull-down menu on the screen
Note for users of Apple devices: When you select a library from the list, the following message is displayed: "ebscomobile" Wants to Use "ebsco.zone" to Sign In. This allows the app and website to share information about you.
This message is native to iOS when an app transitions to a web browser to prompt for user login. The EBSCO Mobile app is not capturing personal information when it transitions to a web browser for the purposes of logging you into the app.
  3. Once you've selected Angelo State University from the list, click on the Connect your institution button.
  4. On the ASU login screen, type in your official ASU email account, then enter your ASU network password in the following screen.

  5. After logging in with your institutional credentials, you will be taken to the EBSCO app home page. From here, click on the Account icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  6. To create a personal EBSCO account, click on Create an account.   If you already have an EBSCO account, click on Sign in to MyEBSCO.

NOTE: You only need to log in to the app once. The app remembers your login credentials and you are automatically authenticated for future sessions.
