This guide is intended to provide assistance to those wishing to accomplish information literacy objectives in their classes. Please do not share this guide with students, it contains sample quizzes!
The Association for College and Research Libraries defines information literacy as "the ability to locate, evaluate, and effectively use information."1 This guide is divided into each of those three areas, with videos and assessments provided to teach corresponding skills.
What we recommend: – flipped classroom style
Out-of-class: 45 minutes of homework (31 minutes of videos, 14 minutes of assessments)
Workshop with a Librarian: 50 minute session on campus or online
Note: if you would like a course-related worksheet, please let us know a week in advance and we’ll create one, staff time permitting.
Use the tutorials to help teach critical thinking skills as listed in ASU's Core Curriculum Matrix.
Use the following link to enroll your class for access to our Information Literacy Tutorials with Quizzes. Select the class you’d like to be enrolled and click “enroll selected classes.” Your course will be enrolled within the next business day. Access remains throughout the semester unless you enter a deadline date.
